NBSE and NSACS to Conduct Online Training for Teachers on Adolescence Education Programme
Kohima: The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) have announced a collaborative effort to conduct a one-day online training session for teachers on October 29, 2024. Scheduled from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, the session will be held under the Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) and will target educators across 15 districts, including Kohima, Mokokchung, Dimapur, and Mon.
The Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Education and the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO). It aims to equip adolescents with essential life skills to help them navigate various challenges. Since 2010, NSACS has been actively conducting AEP training for teachers in Nagaland, focusing on areas such as HIV/AIDS awareness, reproductive health, and related subjects.
During the upcoming session, key topics of discussion will include HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), the HIV & AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act of 2017, and adolescent reproductive and sexual health. This initiative underscores the importance of educating teachers to effectively guide and support adolescents in understanding critical health issues, thereby fostering a safer and more informed youth community.
