NEDA Convener meets Amit Shah To Discuss Nagaland Govt Formation

Guwahati: NEDA convener and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma is currently in New Delhi for an important meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Caretaker CM Neiphiu Rio of Nagaland is also present at the meeting, which has been called to discuss the roadmap for government formation in the state.

Reports claim that the conference would decide who will succeed the current Deputy CM in Nagaland and determine who will fill the remaining cabinet seats.

Reports further stated that the BJP’s current Deputy CM, Y Patton, and Ghaspani MLA Jacob Zhimomi are running for the Deputy CM’s post.

Along with Nagaland, Sarma is anticipated to inform Shah of the most recent changes in Meghalaya’s government formation and Tripura’s swearing-in procedures. Interestingly, the BJP has not yet elected a party leader for the legislature in Tripura, but sources claim Manik Saha is the frontrunner to keep the position.

The conference is important because it could help Nagaland, which has been experiencing political unrest since the recently held assembly elections, form a new government. It will be interesting to watch what decisions are made at the meeting and how they will affect the state’s political climate.
