Neeraj Chopra creates History, bags the Olympics Gold

Guwahati: Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra created history on Saturday by winning the first-ever gold medal for independent India in Tokyo Olympics 2020 and makes it India’s best-ever Olympic campaign.

However, his first attempt was 87.3 enough to get the gold but he bettered it with the second throw which was 87.58, and make it sure for the country to celebrate its first gold medal at the Tokyo 2020. With this brilliant performance, he also became the second Indian after Abhinav Bindra to win a gold medal in individual events.

With this win, India has now won seven medals which include four bronze medals, two silver, and 1 gold in the ongoing Tokyo campaign in various sporting events.
