Nepal Earthquake: Death toll rises to 128, over 140 injured Following 6.4 Magnitude Jolt
International Desk, 4th November: A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck northwestern districts of Nepal on Friday night. The seismic impact extended as far as New Delhi, India, over 800 kilometers away.
The death toll has tragically risen to 132, with 140 individuals injured, although these numbers may increase due to communication disruptions.
Jajarkot and West Rukum districts have been most affected, with Jajarkot recording 92 deaths, including Nalgad Municipality Deputy Mayor Sarita Singh.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ personally visited Jajarkot, coordinating rescue and relief efforts. Ambulances are deployed to facilitate the transportation of the injured.
Despite challenges, the government’s immediate response and community support demonstrate the resilience of the Nepalese people during this trying time.
