New Delhi: Truck Runs Over People Sleeping On Road Divider, 4 Killed & 2 Injured

Guwahati: In a tragic incident, as many as four people has been killed and two others sustained severe injuries after a speeding truck ran over them while the victims were sleeping in New Delhi on Wednesday.

According to reports, the unfortunate incident took place in Seemapuri area of northeast Delhi and two of the victims passed away instantly.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) R Sathiyasundaram, six individuals who were sleeping on a road were crushed by a truck divider that was passing the DTC depot traffic signal at 1.51 in the morning on its way to the DLF T-point. He said the driver was doing reckless and careless driving.

The DCP added that two persons passed away immediately and that four others were taken to GTB Hospital.

However, out of the four injured one was pronounced dead upon arrival and another passed away while receiving treatment.

The deceased have been identified as Rahul from Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh and Kareem, Chotte Khan, and Shah Alam all of were New Seemapuri.

In the meantime, Manish from Uttar Pradesh and Pradeep from Tahirpur have been named as the injured.

Teams have been organised to find the truck and its driver, and a case has been filed in relation to the collision.
