New Guidelines For COVID Vaccine to come into effect from 21st June: Government

The Government of India today released new COVID guidelines which will be implemented from 21st of June. The new guidelines are to be in place in order to ease the States in managing the funding, procurement and logistics of COVID-19 vaccines.

The Centre said that they will procure 75 percent of the vaccine manufactured in the country. The vaccine will be provided free of cost to the States/UT’s and will be administered to citizens as per priority through Government Vaccination Centres with priority to Health Care, Front Line workers and Citizens above 18 years. It will be allocated based on population, disease, burden and the progress of vaccination drive.

It was further announced that Private hospitals on purchase of the vaccine from the manufacturer an amount of Rs.150 to be capped over the cost of the purchase of the vaccine.
