New militant group GCLO demands separate state

Guwahati: A new armed rebel group in Assam known as the Greater Behar Liberation Organisation (GCLO) has been formed.

However, a video has been shared by the outfit.

The armed group GCLO’s cadres shared a video message in which they sought a separate Kamtapur state, warning that they would resort to violence otherwise.

The GCLO cadres reiterated that the fight for a separate state will continue until the Central government does not grant their demand, echoing the long-standing demand for a Kamtapur state in the tribal areas of Assam and North Bengal made by the banned militant group Kamtapur Liberation Organisation.
