New Skills Subjects in Classes 9 & 11 for CBSE Students
Guwahati: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) added new skill topics for the students of classes 9 and 11 under the National Education Policy (NEP) on January 6 in an effort to encourage pupils to go beyond their grades.
The move was made as a result of a study that showed how important it is to give pupils skill-based training because their achievement will determine how well our economy does.
The skill development strategy encourages students to think beyond their grades and allows them to reach their full potential, acquire practical skills, and get ready for success in their chosen careers.
Adolescents can become more employable and earn more money thanks to skill-based learning. Additionally, it fosters financial development and boosts a nation’s economy.
Students can build problem-solving techniques and excellent communication abilities with the help of skill-based learning.
As skill-based learning emphasises the analysis and application of knowledge to actual problems, it also aids in the development of students’ creative, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
The National Education Policy of India 2020 (NEP 2020), which outlines the objectives of India’s future educational system, was approved by the Union Cabinet of India on July 29, 2020. It is the replacement for the previous, 1986-era National Policy on Education.
The goal of the policy is to construct an education system rooted in Indian culture that directly contributes to India’s development by providing high-quality education to everyone, making India a global knowledge powerhouse.
