NIA Launches Multi-State Crackdown on Suspected Al-Qaeda Links, Targets Assam’s Samaguri for Terror Funding Probe

In a significant counter-terrorism operation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a multi-state crackdown aimed at identifying and dismantling suspected Al-Qaeda networks. The extensive operation spans across six states—Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Bihar, Karnataka, Tripura, and Assam—with a focus on disrupting alleged terror funding networks and affiliates of the terrorist organization.

In Assam, the Samaguri district has become a central focus, as NIA teams intensify their search based on specific intelligence leads. Investigators are actively tracing individuals suspected of either aiding or maintaining links with Al-Qaeda, aiming to disrupt potential networks that may pose a threat to national security.

This sweeping operation reflects the NIA’s proactive measures to bolster security across the nation and prevent the infiltration and spread of extremist ideologies. The agency’s efforts underscore a larger initiative to curb radicalization and strengthen India’s defenses against potential terrorist threats within its borders.
