No place for funeral of COVID patients in Haflong!

A COVID-19 patient named Bol Bahadur Thapa age about 69 years who was permanent resident of Haflong died at about 2 pm on 4 October. After that when the relatives and the hospital authority came to the Haflong graveyard (burial sites) for his funeral the local people objected for it. Then the relatives went to DDMA office where they discuss about the matter with the Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao Sri Paul Barua, after that the DC said they will short out the matter and will inform them and at night. Then the relatives of Thapa were informed that the deceased body will be send to Hojai dist for funeral.

People alleged that it’s very sad to say that it’s already 8 months running of COVID 19 pandemic but there is no proper arrangement of funeral for the COVID-19 death persons done by the DDMA Dima Hasao. They also mentioned that they are in shocked because the person who was born and brought up in Dima Hasao but there is no place for his funeral in his own place and for that the DDMA is fully responsible.
