Noonmati Double Murder Case: Body Parts of Husband Recovered By Police in Dawki
Guwahati: The city police on Tuesday recovered several missing parts of the deceased Amarjyoti Dey’s body in the neighbouring state of Meghalaya, which is a significant development in relation to the horrifying murder incident in Guwahati.
The city police conducted a search operation in the early morning hours based on the confessions of the three accused and they recovered the missing body parts of Amarjyoti, including his hands and legs in deep gorges near Dawki.
The police also found the deceased Amarjyoti’s backbone and a T-shirt from another location in Dawki.
Meanwhile, the prime accused of the cold-blooded murder Bondona Kalita suddenly fell ill while being taken to Dawki in Meghalaya to search for the missing parts of her husband and mother-in-law’s body.
She is later returned to Guwahati for evaluation at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
The primary suspect Bondona Kalita is suspected of murdering her husband Amarjyoti Dey and mother-in-law Shankari Dey with assistance from her lover and another accomplice. They cut the bodies into smaller pieces and stored them in a refrigerator before disposing of the remains, which they dumped in various locations throughout the neighbouring state of Meghalaya. It is believed that the incident happened a few months ago.
Bondona Kalita, the primary accused in the Shraddha Walkar-like murder was placed on four days of police remand by the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s (CJM) court.
While two of her accomplices namely Arup Deka and Dhanjit Deka were sent to seven-day police remand.
Guwahati Police on Monday produced the two accomplices Arup Deka and Dhanjit Deka before the court. They are currently under the custody of Noonmati Police Station.
Further investigation is underway.
