Oil companies biased in recruitment: ULFA-I
Guwahati: Stating that the companies or industries in Assam related to oil and natural gases are biased, the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) on Sunday demanded these companies to provide jobs to deserving indigenous youths of other districts in Assam apart from just a few districts in Upper Assam and Arunachal.
The ULFA-I in a statement claimed that the jobs relating to the natural resources in the state belong to the indigenous people of Assam. The rebel organization in their statement further claimed that companies dealing with oil and natural resources have been acting biased over their recruitment process. Although, all deserving candidates from Assam should get jobs in those sectors, the ULFA-I claimed that youths from only a few districts have been getting jobs.
The militant organization named Tinisukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo, Sivasagar and Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh in their statement. They claimed that acting biased, the oil companies are recruiting youths only from these districts.
They further claimed that by doing this the companies have deprived youths of other districts of the state.
The organization further demanded that the companies should recruit more eligible youths belonging to indigenous communities from other districts of the state as well.
