One Killed; 2 Injured in ‘Leptospirosis’ outbreak in Assam’s Gohpur

Guwahati: At least three cases of “Leptospirosis” have been recorded in the Gohpur sub-division of the Biswanath district, the state’s ongoing battle with an epidemic of Japanese encephalitis.

Among whom, it was stated that one patient passed away from an illness presumed to be “Leptospirosis.”

According to reports, the two additional Leptospirosis patients are doing well, but the health department is taking efforts to prevent the bacterial infection from spreading.

The rare bacterial infection “Leptospirosis” must be mentioned as it is frequently spread by rat urine. The only way to prevent this illness is to maintain good hygiene habits.

The health department has been on high alert as a result of a “Leptospirosis” outbreak in the area.
