
Opposition Bloc INDIA Forms 14-Member Coordination Committee for Seat Sharing
National Desk, 1st September: The opposition bloc INDIA has unveiled a 14-member coordination committee, which will serve as the bloc’s highest decision-making body. The committee’s primary task will be to commence seat-sharing discussions among its members.
This development follows a meeting of opposition leaders held in Mumbai on Friday, during which the committee’s formation was announced. Although the names of 13 members have been made public, one member’s identity remains undisclosed. Reports indicate that the strategy for seat allocation among candidates will be completed by September 30.
The 13 members of the coordination committee are as follows:
- KC Venugopal – INC
- Sharad Pawar – NCP
- MK Stalin – DMK
- Sanjay Raut – Shiv Sena (UBT)
- Raghav Chadha – AAP
- Tejashwi Yadav – RJD
- Abhishek Banerjee – TMC
- D Raja – CPI
- Hemant Soren – JMM
- Omar Abdullah – J&KNC
- Mehbooba Mufti – PDP
- Lallan Singh – JD(U)
- Javed Ali Khan – SP
Following the meeting, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray announced that the INDIA bloc would operate under the theme ‘Judega Bharat, Jeetega India’ in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He emphasized that seat-sharing arrangements for the INDIA bloc would promptly commence in various states.
