Over 2,750 tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate exploded in Lebanon blast

Around 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate were stored in the Beirut port warehouse that exploded on Tuesday in which over 73 people were killed and thousands were wounded.

The Lebanese Prime Minister Hasan Diab said regarding the sudden blast that “It is unacceptable that a shipment of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate has been present for six years in a warehouse, without taking any preventive measures”.

A large explosion had took place in the capital city of Lebanon and then a huge smoke occurred which had rise from the city buildings. The blast have taken lives over 73 people and many people were seriously wounded, the blast intensity was so high that it took of many buildings.
