People Throng Holy Places Seeking Blessings On First Day of New Year

Guwahati: People from all around the nation went to temples on the first day of the New Year to seek blessings of God.

In Assam, devotees across the state visited various temples early on Sunday morning to seek blessings for good health and fortune.

Devotees gathered at Mumbai’s renowned Siddhivinayak Temple early this morning to witness the religious aarti. Siddhivinayak Temple, which is situated in the Prabhadevi area owns a special place among Mumbaikars.

To begin the year 2023 with the blessings of Lord Ganesha, crowds of people descended at the temple.

Devotees also rushed to Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple on the first day of the New Year to view the morning aarti.

Early in the morning, Lord Shiva’s “Bhasma aarti” was performed at the Mahakaleshwar Temple. The Bhasma Aarti is thought to be the most unique among the 12 since it is the only “Jyotirling” where the Bhasma is applied on the “Shivling.”

On the other hand, ‘Ganga aarti’ was performed this morning on the first day of the New Year at Varanasi’s Assi Ghat. To witness the Ganga aarti, spectators gathered at the ghat.

Thousands of Sri Radha-Krishna devotees also rushed to Mathura, Vrindavan and Goverdhan temples to ask for heavenly blessings for 2023.
