Petrol and Diesel Price Hiked Again

Guwahati: The price of petrol and diesel once again increased by 80 paise making the petrol price Rs 95.51 per litre in Guwahati on Tuesday.

As of March 22, petrol price has reached Rs 95.51 per litre with an increase of 80 paise, whereas the price for diesel has been hiked by 80 paise and with this increased price of diesel has reached Rs. 82.09 per litre in Guwahati.

This is the first fuel price hike after November 2021.

The petrol and diesel prices were hiked by Rs 35 paise per litre last time.

Hardeep Singh Puri, the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, stated that nine states had not decreased VAT on gasoline and diesel as a result of the Centre’s decision to lower excise duty on petroleum products.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi lowered petroleum product pricing on November 5, 2021, after recognising the need to bring relief to customers. We had taken a few steps and were eager to take more. Nine states did not take any further action. Taxation is merely one facet of the equation. We must give customers with relief at the moment of consumption “In the Rajya Sabha, the minister stated.
