PM Modi To Address Election Rallies On Feb 11, 13 In Tripura
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address election rallies in poll-bound Tripura on February 11 and 13 on Tuesday.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tripura to show the party’s strength. His visit is slated for February 11 and 13. The Prime Minister will address two election meetings for the Tripura Assembly elections. These election rallies will be held at Gomti and Dhalai in Tripura,” as per reports.
PM Modi will be greeted by Chief Minister Manik Saha, the party’s state coordinator Mahesh Sharma and other leaders.
The BJP has declared candidates for 55 assembly seats while leaving the remaining five seats for its alliance, the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT). The Left-Congress alliance has also declared its candidates for all 60 seats.
On February 16, elections are scheduled in Tripura for 60 seats. While voting will take place on February 27 in Meghalaya and Nagaland, respectively. There will be a simultaneous vote count in all three states on March 2.
According to BJP president JP Nadda who spoke at a Vijay Sankalp rally in the Gomati district said five years ago, Tripura faced violence and disturbance but today the state is experiencing growth, connection and an improvement in infrastructure.
Along with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the state on Monday and participated in a roadshow.
In the forthcoming Assembly elections, Shah voiced confidence in his party’s ability to win with a larger majority than it did in 2018.
“The double-engine government will return with a bigger majority than before,” he said.
The Home Minister claimed that the large crowds that attended his roadshow and public events demonstrated the widespread public support for the BJP.
“Thousands of people are here. This shows that there is huge support for the BJP. Congress is a sinking ship and people have rejected violent Communist rule. BJP gave houses, electricity, drinking water, free ration and Covid vaccines to the people, across communities,” the Union Home minister said.
In poll-bound Tripura, Shah took a harsh stance against the CPI(M) and the Congress claiming that both parties disregarded the needs of the people and the state.
According to Shah, the BJP-led administration in Tripura cannot be accused of corruption because both parties engaged in scandals while in power.
“Communists are criminals and the Congress is corrupt. Both have played with the people and the state. Assess the impact of about 30 years of Communist rule and 15 years of Congress rule and compare them with five-year rule under the BJP. You will get all the answers,” the Home minister said while addressing a public meeting.
