TMC Workers Attacked in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills

Guwahati: Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate SG Esmatur Mominin on February 7 evening said that NPP workers had attacked numerous party members in the Charbatapara booth in the Phulbari Assembly constituency of West Garo Hills.

”The attack took place at around 10.30 pm when NPP workers allegedly vandalized the premises where Meghalaya TMC meeting was conducting a meeting,” an official statement quoted Mominin as saying.

The videos of the altercation have already gone popular on social media.

As per the statement, the National People’s Party (NPP) workers allegedly barged into the meeting premises and created a ruckus following which Nozrul Hoque was injured.

The complaint further alleged that Mominin was transferred to the local Phulbari CHC hospital after the attack because she was injured seriously.

TMC employees have been urged by Mominin to maintain their composure and work for their district.

There are now 29 TMC candidates running for office in Meghalaya who are hoping to improve the state.

The nomination submission was accompanied by thousands of supporters amid a raucous applause and significant demonstrations, making for a jovial day across the state on February 6.
