PM Modi to Attend Sikkim’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations, Confirms CM Prem Singh Tamang
Northeast, 15th August: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the state’s 50th-anniversary celebrations marking its union with India. Speaking during the Independence Day festivities at Paljor Stadium, Tamang confirmed that the Prime Minister has officially accepted the invitation to the landmark event.
The Independence Day celebrations were held with great enthusiasm, featuring Tamang hoisting the national flag before a large crowd. The event included a parade showcasing troops and schoolchildren, followed by vibrant cultural performances.
Reflecting on Sikkim’s progress over the past five decades, the Chief Minister also shared his vision for a “Sunaulo Sikkim” (Golden Sikkim), emphasizing continued development and prosperity for the state.
