PM Modi To Visit Meghalaya on Feb 24

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Poll-bound Meghalaya on February 24.

PM Modi will speak at a rally in Tura on February 24. He will host a roadshow as part of the election campaign in Shillong on the same day where the BJP aims to win a significant portion of the vote.

As per reports, PM will visit Nagaland and attend a sizable rally there.

“PM will also address a public rally to boost the election campaign. Meeting with BJP leader of Meghalaya is also in schedule”, sources added.

This is the first visit of PM Modi in Meghalaya in 2023.

Reportedly, the BJP’s election strategy has been to promote growth and jobs in a region that lacks both.

Union minister and former chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal spoke on these topics as well as corruption during a recent campaign stop in Meghalaya. He also alluded to the “nepotism” of the Sangma families, both of which have numerous participants in the conflict.

The assembly election of the state is scheduled to be held on February 27 alongside Nagaland.
