Guwahati: A woman has been arrested while she attempted to exchange ATM cards with an elderly man in Nagaon district of Assam on Wednesday.
The incident took place near the Haiborgaon State Bank of the district.
According to police, she steals money from elderly people by swapping their ATM cards and obtaining their pin numbers.
Police officials further recovered 14 ATM cards of different persons from her possession.
Sharing the news on Twitter, Nagaon Police wrote, “BEWARE OF FRAUDSTER A woman is apprehended by Nagaon Police who used to target people by exchanging their ATM card in lieu of helping them & withdraw all savings14 cards of different persons recovered from her possession.”
