Guwahati: A senior police officer was recovered hanged at a battalion camp in the Cachar district of Assam on Saturday night.
According to reports, the constable was discovered hanging in a room at the 6th Assam Police Battalion barracks in Cachar’s Kathal area.
The dead has been identified as Biplab Chakraborty, a resident of Cachar.
His coworkers alerted higher authorities after discovering him in this horrifying state who then alerted the police.
The police recovered the jawan’s body while they arrived at the camp.
The body was then sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for post-mortem examination.
The cause of his suicide is still not known at this time.
The police have launched an investigation to determine whether it was a suicide or a murder.
