Guwahati: As many as three persons were arrested for possession of illegal arms and ammunition by Assam Police at Balipara under Sonitpur district on Tuesday.
The police made the seizure after conducting a raid in a home in the Chariduar area based on specific information.
Police arrested the trio during the operation and took 12 live bullets and three homemade firearms from them.
The detainees’ identities have not yet been determined.
Further investigation is underway.
