Preparation of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ in Rangghar, Colorful Lighting Through Projectors
Guwahati: Historic rangghar of Assam was given a new look with the help of a projector on Friday night. The colorful lights were seen in the rangghar which has now evoked mixed reactions of the people.
Extensive preparations (100 episodes of Mann Ki Baat) at the premises of the historic Rangghar in Sivasagar to watch the 100th episode of the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
Arrangement for viewing with the help of digital projectors from 7pm onwards. Special arrangements have been made at Rangghar in collaboration with the Department of Archeology and initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Arrangements have been made to witness the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on the premises of a total of 13 ancient monuments in the country. It also includes rangghar premises.
Meanwhile, the historic rangghar was given a new look with the help of a projector last night. The colorful lights were seen in the rangghar which has now evoked mixed reactions within the people.
Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi has reacted on social media.
Akhil Gogoi stated yesterday that, “I have not seen with my own eyes but it is better for the government not to do anything that hurts the dignity of the people of Assam. I appeal to all stakeholders not to put their hands on the self-respect of the nation. ’’.
Akhil Gogoi stated, “As mla from Sivasagar, I repeatedly called and submitted memorandums to director general of the Archaeological Department of India, superintendenting archaeologists from the northeast, district collectors and officials of the district ASI protesting against the screening of religious laser shows at Rangghar. Now Guwahati-based superenteding archologist Dr N K Swain has said that they will remove religious issues from the laser show. I have given a copy of that message here. The Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar has summoned our representative and assured them that religious issues will be removed. In the meantime, many organisations including respected members of our party have started protesting in Sivasagar. I humbly request everyone to continue to protest till the last moment.”
