Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Promises Wage Hike for Tea Garden Workers During Assam Roadshow

Guwahati, 16th April: During a roadshow in Assam’s Jorhat district, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra pledged to increase the daily wages of tea garden workers if the opposition alliance wins the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a large gathering, Vadra criticized the ruling party, alleging its intentions to amend the Constitution, which she believes would adversely affect the common people.

Vadra reiterated her commitment to the welfare of tea garden workers, recalling her previous promise to raise their wages if Congress formed the government. She emphasized that the party’s manifesto guarantees a wage hike for these workers.

Advocating for Congress candidate Gaurav Gogoi, Vadra highlighted his focus on addressing people’s concerns compared to what she described as irrelevant issues raised by BJP leaders.

In her remarks, Vadra criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly overlooking issues such as unemployment, urging voters to prioritize pressing matters over religious or caste considerations.

Accompanied by party leaders, Vadra commenced her roadshow from Titabor, the assembly seat of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi, before heading to Tripura for another campaign event.
