The Health and Family Welfare Department of Assam has reduced the Quarantine Period to 10 days from 14 days if one returned from outside the state. In a Notification issued by the Health Department, it said that the quarantine period has been reduced to 10 days inclusive of days spent in Institutional/Hotel quarantine as well as Home quarantine.
The notification further stated that if a passenger spends initial 2 days in Hotel quarantine, then they should spend the rest 8 days in Home quarantine. Similarly, if a passenger directly heads to home quarantine then they should spend 10 days at Home. However, if the RT-PCR Test result of the Passenger turns out Positive, then the Health Department will take necessary action.
