Rahul Gandhi: BJP is against the idea of diversity

Guwahati: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on February 22asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is opposed to the concept of diversity and pledged to protect citizens from the saffron party.

He was addressing a rally in Shillong for the first time before the Assembly elections.

Gandhi attacked the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alleging that they are aiming to obliterate the state’s language and traditions.

”BJP is against the idea of diversity and is trying to destroy your culture, tradition, and language. Congress will save you all from the BJP,” he added.

Moreover, he asserted that India is not just one philosophy, one community, or one religion and that the BJP is assaulting all the states.

The Congress leader, who was criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi rather than Gautam Adani, claimed that Adani benefits everytime the Prime Minister travels to another nation.

”Whenever Prime Minister visits Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and any other country, Gautam Adani gets a gift from those countries,” Gandhi claimed.

Gandhi also pledged to provide Meghalaya with a constant supply of electricity if elected.

”Well make sure that people of Meghalaya get uninterrupted power supply and additionally we provide support to those who are addicted to drugs,” he said.
