Rahul Gandhi likely to visit Assam on 14th February

Former Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi is all set to visit Assam ahead of the ensuing Assembly Polls tentatively scheduled in April, reliable sources confirmed. Assam Congress spokesperson Rituporno Konwar said that Rahul’s visit to Assam is “almost confirmed.” The visit of the Congress Leader will come close on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur District.

During his visit, PM Modi is scheduled to ceremoniously launch the Assam Mala project for the up-gradation of State highways and also lay the foundation stones of Two Medical Colleges at Biswanath and Charaideo. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman too is scheduled to visit Guwahati on February 6 and participate in a programme where money will be transferred to the Bank Accounts of Eight Lakh Tea Garden Workers in the State, Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced. Sitharaman will distribute Rs.3000 each to 8 Lakh Labourers with a Total expense of Rs. 280 Crores at a Fancy event to be held at the Khanapara Veterinary field on the outskirts of Guwahati City.
