Rahul Gandhi Unfurls National Flag at Srinagar

Guwahati: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi unfurled the Tricolor at Lal Chowk in Srinagar at noon on Sunday to signify the conclusion of the foot march that began in Kanyakumari as the Congress leader’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” entered its final lap in Kashmir.

A multi-layer security ring had been set up around the city centre and the entire region surrounding Lal Chowk had been sealed off.

Gandhi, along with his sister and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, began the yatra at 10:45 am. The yatra resumed from Srinagar’s Panthachowk in the morning and halted for a break at Sonwar Chowk.

The Gandhis carried the tricolor and party flags among hundreds of other Congress supporters, many of whom were women.
