Rajasthan CM Announced To Distribute Sanitary Pads For Women

Guwahati: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced on Wednesday that his administration would give 12 sanitary napkins each month to every woman in the state who is menstruation.

Addressing a press conference in Sawai Madhopur, Ashok Gehlot said, “Why should women suffer in silence during their menstruation cycle. Hesitation around it should be left behind.”

The chief minister further stated that all women in the state will receive 12 sanitary napkins each month and that the programme is being implemented in the benefit of the general public.

The chief minister of Rajasthan introduced an ambitious scheme earlier in January that provides free sanitary napkins to women and girls. The scheme named “Uddan” was reportedly inspired by Akshay Kumar-starrer Padman.
