Rajasthan CM presented old budget, alleges opposition, assembly disrupted

Guwahati: Opposition BJP members in the Rajasthan Assembly staged a protest as soon as Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot began delivering the eagerly anticipated state budget on Friday,  alleging that he was reading from the previous budget.

BJP further said the budget has officially leaked because state government employees scrambled to obtain a copy.

According to the opposition party, only the Chief Minister should bring a copy of the budget.

Mr. Gehlot recited passages from the last budget instead of reading from the budget for 2023–24. The Opposition started making a commotion as soon as he made the first two announcements, which were included in the Budget 2022–23, and they rushed into the House well.

The House was postponed for a half-hour as a result of the Opposition’s continuing commotion after Speaker CP Joshi pleaded with them to maintain order.

BJP MLAs staged a sit-in inside the House well following the adjournment. The Speaker commanded that the Assembly’s proceedings be thrown out.
