Ram Temple Trust Advises Advani and Joshi Against Attending Consecration Ceremony

National Desk, 19th December: The Ram Temple Trust has urged veteran BJP leaders LK Advani and MM Joshi not to attend the upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Champat Rai, the Trust’s general secretary, cited health and age as primary considerations behind this advisory. Both leaders, aged 96 and nearly 90, respectively, have graciously accepted the Trust’s appeal.

LK Advani, a BJP founding member, gained prominence for initiating the Ram Rath Yatra in 1990, a significant event that strengthened the party’s political standing. MM Joshi, another founding member, played a pivotal role in the Ram Temple agitation during the early 1990s.

The consecration ceremony, scheduled for January 22, is poised to be a grand affair with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. Notable invitees include former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, spiritual leaders like the Dalai Lama and Mata Amritanandamayi, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, and celebrities such as Rajnikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, and Arun Govil.

Approximately 4,000 saints and 2,200 guests, including heads of major temples like Kashi Vishwanath and Vaishno Devi, are expected. Rituals are set to commence on January 16, with preparations for the ceremony to be completed by January 15.

The event will also witness the participation of Shankaracharyas from six ancient schools and approximately 150 saints and sages.
