Ramesh Bais Takes Oath as 22nd Maharashtra Governor

Guwahati: Ramesh Bais took the oath of office on Saturday in the presence of the chief minister Eknath Shinde.

Maharashtra Governor-designate Ramesh Bais accompanied by Rambai Bais arrived at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai earlier on Friday. The Governor-designate was given a traditional welcome on his arrival.

Principal Secretary to Governor Santosh Kumar, Joint Secretaries Shweta Singhal and Prachi Jambhekar and other officers were present.

Ramesh Bais served as the governor of Jharkhand from 2021 until 2023.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the governor, submitted his letter of resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month, and President Droupadi Murmu has accepted it. Ramesh Bais (75) took over as the new governor of Maharashtra when Koshyari (81), who had served the state for more than three years, stepped down.
