Ranjeet Kumar Dass: Rs 1.3 Lakh Disbursed For Beneficiaries Under PMAY-G

Guwahati: Ranjeet Kumar Dass, the cabinet minister for panchayat and rural development in Assam, stated on Thursday that the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana had paid beneficiaries directly to the tune of Rs. 130,000. (PMAY-G).

The Assam minister opened a ceremony for the release of cash under a central government programme today while addressing at a gathering in Guwahati’s Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. He said, “We have provided Rs 1,30,000 directly to the beneficiaries under the scheme. Apart from that we have also provided Rs 21,000 under several other sections.”

Taking to Twitter, Ranjeet Kumar Dass wrote, “PMAY-G, an active initiation by #GOI under the vision of @narendramodi ji of “Housing for all by 2024.”

“I am honoured to inaugurate ‘The Ceremony Of Funds Release’ to 3.8L beneficiaries, on behalf of HCM Dr. @himantabiswa at International Hall of Srimanta Sankardev kalakhetra,Ghy,” he further wrote.

Speaking on the occasion, Dass said, “So far, the beneficiaries have received a total of Rs 1,51,000. Moreover, a total of 3,80,000 have received the first installment of the amount.”

The state cabinet minister did note that another six to seven lakh recipients had still to receive their own homes.

Ranjeet Kumar Dass said, “Around six to seven lakh beneficiaries under the flagship housing scheme are yet to get their own houses for which funds will soon be released from the Centre.”

The Assam minister also disclosed the amount of PMAY funds released by the federal government for the state. He said, “Under the PMAY scheme, the Centre has released a total of Rs 9,044 crores. Within 20 months, the beneficiaries have received this fund.”

He also cautioned the populace not to fall prey to middlemen in this situation. If somebody requests money in connection with the scheme, he advised contacting the police right away. Additionally, he asked the police to become involved in similar situations.

It should be mentioned that cabinet minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass attended a fund disbursal programme hosted by the Assam government’s Panchayat and Rural Development department today in Guwahati’s Kalakshetra.

Today, the government distributed money to 3,80,000 recipients of the PMAY-G programme. The money was intended for those who rent kutcha dwellings or don’t own homes.
