Guwahati: A rehabilitation centre in the Hatigaon area of Guwahati was given the go-ahead to close, according to rumours that surfaced on Tuesday in the wake of a murder.
The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment reportedly passed the order to close the rehab facility.
The decision to shut down follows a terrible murder that happened at the rehab facility.
Miracle Foundation has been named as the treatment facility where the murder incident occurred.
The centre was run by Kaushik Kalita and Bharadwaj Baishya.
Notably, a young man named Aminul Hussain who was intoxicated killed another young person who was mentally ill at the centre itself yesterday.
Hussain was arrested by Hatigaon Police in the afternoon of the same day based on the CCTV footage of the entire incident.
The owners of the rehab centre were also arrested by the police.
The police then sealed the rehab centre.
