Guwahati: Prominent artist, writer and novelist Bhabaniprashad Sowkadhara breathed his last at the age of 76 in Guwahati on Sunday.
According to reports, he died early today at a private nursing home here.
He is survived by his wife, only son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
The distinguished individual was born at Namti in Sivasagar district of Assam on January 28, 1946.
Reportedly, he was suffering kidney problems for a long time.
It should be mentioned that the well-known author and artist served as the Asom Sahitya Sabha’s first president when it was based in Khanapara.
