RIMS Imphal Students Petition Governor Over Safety and Academic Concerns
A delegation of students from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, engaged in a crucial meeting with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Raj Bhavan this past Saturday, May 10th. The primary objective of this meeting was to formally submit a comprehensive memorandum detailing a range of pressing grievances that have been significantly impacting their student community.
The students articulated a series of concerns during their interaction with Governor Bhalla, encompassing issues related to their personal safety, the academic challenges they face, and their overall welfare. Governor Bhalla listened attentively to their concerns, acknowledging the gravity of the issues presented by the student representatives.
In response to the students’ grievances, Governor Bhalla expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring their well-being. He emphasized that their safety, academic pursuits, and general welfare are of paramount importance. He further pledged to conduct a thorough review of the memorandum’s contents, in collaboration with the relevant authorities, to formulate effective and appropriate solutions.
Furthermore, Governor Bhalla encouraged the students to remain steadfast in their academic endeavors and to cultivate a peaceful and harmonious campus environment. He reassured them that all necessary actions would be taken, adhering to due process, to address and resolve the issues they had raised.
