Rishab Shetty Announces Kantara 2 To Be Released In 2024
Guwahati: The prequel to Kantara, Kantara 2, has already begun scripting, according to talented Kannada actor and director Rishab Shetty.
Rishab Shetty, the movie’s star and director, along with the rest of the cast and crew recently celebrated Kantara’s 100th day in theatres with a success bash that took place in Bengaluru.
In the bash Shetty said, “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara. With the blessing of almighty Daiva, the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of the film.”
“What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year. The idea came to my mind while I was shooting for Kantara. It is because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still underway, it would be very early to reveal details about the film,” Shetty added.
Rishab Shetty attained international recognition with his blockbuster performance in Kantara, which was released in theatres in 2022, actor. The film quickly gained widespread acclaim from viewers despite having a modest budget and a limited initial distribution in Kannada.
The narrative of Kaadubettu Shiva and his father, which is set against the backdrop of coastal Karnataka and focuses around the local ritual dance known as Bhoota Kola, is told by Kantara. In the film, Rishab Shetty played both the lead character Shiva and his father. Key roles were played by Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, Prakash Tuminad, Naveen D Padil, and others.
The film was initially only released in Kannada, but due to its popularity with viewers, it was later dubbed into Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
