SEBA Denies HSLC Exam Paper Leak Rumours
Guwahati: The SEBA secretary and exam controller Narnarayan Nath referred to media reports about an English paper leak during the first day of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination as false and unfounded. The HSLC exam started on Friday.
This comes after several reports suggested that the English HSLC exam question paper had been leaked. It’s interesting to note that some images of the English newspaper were also trending on social media.
Speaking to the media, Narnarayan Nath said, “The reports of about the English paper leak in the current HSLC exam are false and baseless. W e are taking utmost care and maintaining vigilance, hence, leakage of question paper doesn’t arise. Moreover, the question paper which went viral on social media almost 2 hours after the exam started. Had it would have been in the morning hours, one can claim it as a leak.”
As a result, Nath instructed the school inspector to keep an eye on the situation after claiming that the images presently making the rounds on social media were posted from the Barpeta district.
Earlier, it was stated in a number of reports that the handwritten chemistry test questions from last Tuesday had leaked.
Later, the minister of education for Assam’s cabinet had come forward to refute the reports, claiming they were untrue. Ranoj Pegu added that he had personally investigated the reports of a chemistry exam paper leak and found them to be untrue.
Taking to Twitter, the Assam education minister wrote, “The news of chemistry question paper leak in the current HS examination is completely fake and baseless. I have personally checked the matter. We are taking utmost care and maintaining vigilance. Please don’t heed fake news and rumours.”
Ranoj Pegu also provided a press release from the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), which oversees the administration of Assam’s high school exams, regarding the leak of chemistry exam questions.
As many as three students in Dhubri’s Bilasipara were expelled for using unfair means during exam times.
