Sec. 144 Is Implemented In Tinsukia Amid Picnic Season

Guwahati: In Tinsukia district of Assam Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has been subject to the implement on Wednesday.

According to accounts, the strict regulations were implemented because it was picnic season and the start of the year-end celebrations.

The district magistrate, Narsing Pawar, issued an order prohibiting picnickers from contaminating public areas and advising everyone to abide by the rules.

The rule further said that no plastic bottles or rubbish should be left at picnic areas.

In addition, the district administration has strictly forbidden drinking at picnic areas as part of its campaign against hooliganism and alcoholism.

It should be remembered that earlier on Tuesday, Sec. 144 was implemented in the Assamese town of Bijni in the Chirang district.

Abhishek Jain, the Bijni Sub-Divisional Magistrate, made the decree. The prohibitory measures will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. according to the order that was issued.

Additionally, it will still be illegal to host DJ events and play loud music at that time.
