Guwahati: In the encounter on Wednesday morning in Jammu’s Sidhra neighborhood, a few terrorists were neutralized. The police were made aware of this.
The precise number of terrorists killed won’t be known until the fire is extinguished and a search is conducted inside the vehicle they were riding in, according to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh.
“The encounter is over. Two-three terrorists were there. There could be more. They were heavily armed. They have been neutralized,” said ADGP Singh.
The Border Security Forces are on high alert in anticipation of Republic Day, according to the ADGP, who was speaking about the operation. This morning, they spotted an odd truck movement.
“We noticed an unusual movement of a truck and followed it. The truck was stopped at Sidhra in Jammu where the driver managed to flee. When the truck was searched terrorists were hiding inside and fired on the personnel. The retaliatory firing was done. The truck is still on fire,” added ADGP.
