Northeast Desk, 5th December: The Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department announces a scheduled two-day shutdown for the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme.
The shutdown, taking place on Wednesday and Thursday, is necessitated by the interconnection of D.I pipelines for the improvement and widening of Shillong-Dawki Road (NH-40).
The shutdown will impact water supply services in the region, with no water supply to Shillong City and its adjoining areas during this period. Efforts will be made to restore water supply at the earliest convenience.
