Guwahati, 7th August: A heart-wrenching incident of elderly abuse has left the community in Guwahati in shock and disbelief. An old-age woman was allegedly subjected to unimaginable physical and mental torture by her own son, causing outrage and concern among the residents.
The victim endured horrifying acts of cruelty, including merciless beatings with a stick and being scalded with hot water on her frail body. Sources revealed that the accused malefactor behind this barbaric act is identified as Samajyoti Bharali.
The elderly woman was reportedly tied to the porch and forced to suffer in the scorching heat, leaving her in a state of immense distress and vulnerability.
The shocking incident occurred in close proximity to the District Commissioner’s Office, located at Hengerabari. The motive behind such heinous acts remains unclear, adding to the gravity of the situation.
