Northeast Desk, 28th May: A high-level delegation from BJP Sikkim filed a formal complaint against Tsewang Gyatso Bhutia, IAS, and Phurba Wangdi Bhutia, MD of the State Bank of Sikkim, alleging embezzlement of funds. The complaint was lodged with the Chief Secretary at Tashiling Secretariat on May 28, following directives from BJP State President, DR Thapa.
The BJP has called for the immediate removal of the two officers, citing their involvement with the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha during a public meeting. Additionally, the party submitted evidence of financial mismanagement amounting to ₹69 crore to the Enforcement Directorate office in Tadong.
The BJP has also alerted the Home Ministry about these significant concerns, seeking urgent action against the accused officers.
