National Desk, 27th May: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi narrowly avoided a potential accident on May 27 when a section of the stage collapsed during an election rally in Paliganj, Bihar.
Gandhi was campaigning for Misa Bharti, the daughter of RJD president Lalu Prasad, who is contesting for the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat. The incident occurred as Bharti was escorting Gandhi to his seat when a part of the makeshift platform gave way, causing Gandhi to lose his balance. Bharti quickly steadied Gandhi, reassuring concerned security personnel that he was unharmed.
Despite the scare, both Gandhi and Bharti maintained their composure, continuing with the rally amid heightened attention from the audience and security detail.
