Sikkim Democratic Front Issues Warning Against Deepfake Voice Notes Misusing Party President’s Identity

Northeast Desk, 2nd December: The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) has issued a stern warning to the residents of the state concerning the proliferation of deepfake voice notes featuring SDF President Pawan Chamling. The party alerts the public to be cautious and not fall prey to misleading content attributed to Chamling, alleging that the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party is behind the deceptive tactics.

Deepfake technology, capable of manipulating audio and visual content to create convincing but fabricated material, has raised significant concerns about misinformation. The SDF accuses the SKM of exploiting this technology to spread false voice notes with the intention of misleading the public.
