Sikkim Governor Acharya Extends Warm Wishes on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti

Northeast Desk, 14th April: On the auspicious occasion of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya conveyed heartfelt greetings to the people of Sikkim, commemorating the birth anniversary of the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of social justice and equality, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Governor Acharya underscored the enduring legacy of Dr. Ambedkar, hailing him as a symbol of ideals and principles that have fostered equality, compassion, and unity in Indian society. Emphasizing the importance of embracing Dr. Ambedkar’s ideas, the Governor called for creating a more inclusive society that celebrates the diverse cultures and communities thriving in Sikkim, each with their unique identities, languages, and traditions.

The Governor’s message echoed sentiments of unity and progress, paying tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s monumental contributions towards social justice and empowerment. In addition, Governor Acharya expressed appreciation for the commendable efforts of the All Sikkim Scheduled Caste Welfare Association (ASSCWA) in uplifting the lives of underprivileged individuals within society. He commended their dedication to this noble cause and extended heartfelt wishes for the Association’s continued success in its endeavors towards societal upliftment and prosperity.
