Singer Abhilash Bora from Assam’s Moran suspected of joining ULFA(I)
Guwahati: Another youth from Assam’s Dibrugarh district has been suspected to have joined the banned militant outfit, United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).
The youth identified as Abhilash Bora who is a resident of Sorai Habi Gaon no 2 in Moran town of the district.
Bora who is a singer of Moran is alleged of joining ULFA(I) after leaving his child with wife.
According to reports, Bora severed relations with his family on May 5.
His family was informed by his friends that he had joined a forbidden organisation.
Bora was scheduled to perform at the Sonowal Kachari Sahitya Sabha in Dibrugarh on May 13.
Reportedly, the circumstances driving the youth’s hasty decision to join the unlawful organisation remain unknown.
Meanwhile, Abhilash Bora’s parents and his wife have urged Paresh Baruah to send him home because he had undergone surgery.
It needs to be noted that Assamese youths continue to join the Assam United Liberation Front (Independent). On a daily basis, young people are joining the prohibited organisation.
