Special Exams to be Conducted for Recruitment of Teachers

Guwahati, 23 May: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today made important comments on the appointment of teachers. Chief Minister said that there has been a major changes in the appointment of teachers.

Addressing a press conference, the Chief Minister said, “I want to seek a major change in the recruitment of teachers from now on. TET must be. But there has been a lot of variation in BEd and higher secondary exam scores. Some do well in the marksheet by enrolling in open school later as the results are not good in higher secondary. As a result, there is an obstacle in giving meritorious candidates in the recruitment of teachers. ’’

Chief Minister said that, “those who pass B.Ed from West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand bring much higher marks than Gauhati University and Dibrugarh University. Scores of 98-99 per cent we want to check. So one more written exam will be conducted in case of appointment of teachers. The recruitment exam will have to be appeared by the candidates who pass the TET Exam. ’’

Meanwhile, those who are involved in the  malpractices in the appointment will be arrested, the chief minister said. The joint director of the health department will also be arrested. Assam CM also said that those who have failed the Grade III and IV recruitment examination will get back the fee in July. CM Sarma added “We should not be reminded of the promises we have made. We will keep our promises.”
